We invite members and friends old and new to join us for the following events and activities. All ages are welcome. The public is welcome.

GAMING NIGHT / 3rd Friday of Each Month  /7 – 11 p.m. Join us in the Hopedale Unitarian Parish church all to  play fantasy games such as Magic the Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons. All are welcome! Children under 12 must bring an adult with them. Please contact Tony Alves [email protected] with any questions.

COMMON READ BOOK GROUP / Dec. 2, 2017 / 10-11:30 a.m.  Join us in the parish hall parlor for a discussion of the book Centering: Navigating Race, Authenticity and Power in Ministry, which is the UUA’s Common Read for this year.

LISTENING FOR LIGHT / Dec. 2, 2017  4:45 – 5:15 p.m.  Our energetic and talented Ministerial Intern Jennie Mulqueen presents a program of participatory songs and dances inspired by the classic tale “Stone Soup”. This engaging program is a celebration of stories, music and more.  Friends of all ages are invited to join us inside Hopedale Unitarian Parish church  as part of the Hopedale Holiday Stroll and Tree Lighting.

POTLUCK AND LEARNING  Dec. 3, 2017 / 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.  How Church Works – Rev. Tony leads an interactive conversational  learning session on how congregations function as organizational and relational systems.  Topics covered include congregational size dynamics organizational structure, basic systems theory, and perspectives on leadership.

CAROLING / Sun. Dec. 10, 2017 12-2 p.m.  Members and friends of all ages are invited to join us for caroling, cookies, and cocoa.  We will gather in the Hopedale Unitarian Parish church hall at noon, sing a few songs together to warm up and then walk around the neighborhood of the church caroling and spreading good cheer.  We will return to the parish hall for cookies and cocoa.  The Patriots don’t play until Monday. You won’t miss the game!

A QUIET CHRISTMAS / Dec. 20, 2017 / 6:30-7:30 p.m. For those who find the holidays difficult for various reasons, Join us in the parish parlor for soft  instrumental music, readings, candles and reflection followed by light refreshments and a time of quiet conversation and mutual support.

CHALICE CIRCLE / Dec. 21, 2017 /6:30-7:30 p.m. – Join us in Rev. Tony’s office to share joys and concerns and discuss  this month’s reflection questions about Joy in a supportive, caring environment.

NEW YEAR’S EVE  PARTY / Sun. Dec. 31, 2017 / 5 p.m. – 10 p.m.  Members and friends of all ages are invited to join us in the Milford Unitarian Universalist church hall at 23 Pine St. in Milford for a community meal, followed by a sing along, games, movies, and other fun. Bring a dish to share, an instrument or your voice, a game you like to play, and a movie snack!  The hardiest among us may stay up for midnight!

BREAD BAKING RESCHEDULED TO 2018/ Sun. Nov. 19, 2017 / 11:30  a.m. – 1:30 p.m. – Join Rev. Tony and the pastors of Simple Church in the Hopedale Unitarian Parish kitchen and parish hall for a class on making old fashioned, dairy-free, sugar free bread, made with flour, water, yeast and salt.  We will make the dough and bake it. This bread is great for eating, sharing, and for Thanksgiving meals!  This is the bread we have used in our Operation Turkey sandwich efforts. It’s yummy! Please REGISTER for this event by Oct. 29. It’s free, we just need to know how many people will attend so we have adequate supplies.  Note: Simple Church is a Methodist dinner church that helps support itself through baking and selling bread.
