Hopedale Unitarian Parish is congregationalist in its polity, meaning that our church is its own, independent, self-governing, democratic, 501-c-3 non-profit religious organization governed by our own set of Bylaws and policies. We are a member of the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations. Final decision making power is vested in the members of the church gathered in congregational meeting. Congregational meetings are held annually in the spring of each year.
In-between congregational meetings, the institutional, administrative, and fiduciary authority is vested in a seven member Board of Trustees. The Board meets monthly, currently on the second Tuesday of each month.
Our minister is an ex-officio, non-voting member of both the Board and Committee on Ministry. The staff assists with the general administration of the congregation and its programs.
